Some of you were unable to attend the Parent Involvement Committee meeting held last week. I’ve attached the powerpoint presentations and 2 Word documents. The first is the input you gave during the fishbone activity at the April 11th PIC meeting and the second is information about Parent Involvement Activities from the Ministry of Education’s website.
During your October and November school council meetings, I ask your council to do 2 things:
- Look at the first page of the April 11th document (The Who) and create a priority order for those who your council members believe should be part of a regional Parent Involvement Committee.
- Looking at the 26 TIPS for involving parents in your school community, choose which of those TIPS your council feels your school does very well and which TIPS you would like more information about.
If you send me the information to these 2 tasks by Friday, November 24th, I’ll have it all summarized ready to share at our next PIC meeting.
The next PIC meeting is Thursday, November 30th from 7pm to 9pm at the Milton Sports Centre (Derry Road west of Hwy 25) in the Banquet Hall.
